Dirk Kotze is an accomplished psychiatrist with a diverse and rich background in the field of mental health. Born and raised in the picturesque Cape Town area of South Africa, Dr. Kotze's journey into medicine began at Stellenbosch University, where he earned his medical degree.

Following his graduation, Dr. Kotze pursued a personal passion by building and embarking on a sailing adventure across the Indian Ocean. During the construction of his yacht, he expanded his medical expertise through locum work in the United Kingdom, where he discovered a profound interest in psychiatry.

Returning to South Africa, Dr. Kotze specialized in psychiatry at the University of Stellenbosch. He gained extensive experience working in both government and private sectors, honing his skills in various aspects of psychiatric care.

In 2007, Dr. Kotze and his family relocated to Canada, where he has spent the past 18 years in Dawson Creek, Northern BC. His practice has encompassed a broad spectrum of general psychiatry, including acute inpatient care and community psychiatry, serving individuals across all age groups.

Now, Dr. Kotze is transitioning to Victoria, BC, to be closer to the ocean and the stunning landscapes of Vancouver Island. He is launching a new practice with a focus on adult Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). Recognizing the complexities involved in diagnosing and treating ADHD, Dr. Kotze aims to offer a comprehensive, multidisciplinary approach to help individuals harness their strengths and achieve a fulfilling life.

Dr. Kotze is enthusiastic about collaborating with a network of healthcare professionals and counsellors at Infocus to provide holistic and effective treatment solutions for those affected by ADHD.
